St. Francis of Assisi Youth Ministry Mission Statement

 We Are St. Francis of Assisi Youth and

 We Believe that youth are a vital part of our faith community. Our Youth Ministry offers a safe, welcoming and comfortable place where young people can make and develop positive relationships with family, each other, our God, and His church.

 We Serve one another and all other youth by providing a place where our social, emotional, and spiritual needs are met. As a reflection of the love and support that our Lord, parish, and community have given us, we gladly serve them all through joyful Christian service.

 We Offer a variety of fun, interactive, and hands-on activities that encourage us to understand, appreciate and experience that we are actively participating in our Catholic faith.

Dear Friends,

            Fall is rolling around once again, and the best part about that is High School Youth Ministry kicks into high gear. We have another great year with lots of new things, and a few good old favorites that we brought back for fun.

            High School Youth Group meets on Monday nights from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Youth Room and Gym. 7 – 7:30 p.m. is gather time and the gym is open, we begin our program at 7:30 p.m. We enjoy great friends, faith, and fun! We also offer a variety of outside activities to feed your appetite for social, spiritual, service, and sports. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends!

Please note that once youth come in to Youth Group their electronic devices (phones, IPods, games) must be turned off until the end of the meeting as they have proven to be far too much of a distraction and interruption to our meetings. If devices are found to be in use, they will be taken away for the evening. If a problem persists, parents will be called to come pick up their youth.

            Jr. High Youth Group meets on Wednesday nights from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Youth Room and Gym. 7 – 7:30 p.m. is gather time and the gym is open, we begin our program at 7:30 p.m. This is a lectionary-based program, where the themes from the Scripture reading on Sunday are the basis for our meetings on Wednesday.

Everyone is on a Snack Rotation to help out with the fun. We enjoy great friends, faith, and fun! We offer a variety of activities to feed your appetite for social, spiritual, service, and sports. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends!

Sacrament of Confirmation for Teens

Year One - Teen Sacraments (7^th – 12^th Graders)

First Reconciliation and First Communion

Teen Sacrament Preparation at St. Francis of Assisi is a comprehensive two-year program that will prepare you to celebrate the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. If you have already been baptized, and will be in the 7th - 12th grade in the Fall of 2010, you are eligible for Year One in the Teen Sacrament Program. To register for this program Parents and Teens must make an appointment and meet with Kathy De Lemos.

Year Two - Teen Sacraments (7^th – 12^th Graders)

First Reconciliation and First Communion

Teen Sacrament Preparation at St. Francis of Assisi is a comprehensive program that will prepare you to celebrate the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. If you have already been baptized, are in the 7th - 12th grade this fall, and have successfully passed our Teen Sacrament Year One Program, you are eligible for Year Two in the Teen Sacrament Program to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion.

Registration packets for Year One or Year Two – Teen Sacraments First Reconciliation and First Communion are due in to the Parish Office no later than Friday, September 30^th, 2011
